Biography
Faye is a local artist, born on the North West Coast of Tasmania, and has been drawing and experimenting with art since her teens; exploring the relatedness of human connections and the spirit in landscape.
She has worked and practiced as an artist, teacher, and educator for many years in schools, Adult Education and Tafe.
Faye has also tutored ‘Summer Schools’ and weekends at The Grange, Campbell Town, Tasmania.
Local art students, professional artists, national, and international artists attended the Summer Schools.
Since 1979 Faye has exhibited her work statewide, in Victoria and Queensland. This includes 2D and 3D art, as well as Poetic and Interactive ‘Art Installations’. Exhibitions include: 22 solo exhibitions, 9 two-person exhibitions, small-group & large-group exhibitions.
Faye has held 2 major art exhibitions and 40+ solo and group exhibitions.
She is currently documenting her many years of art practice and developing new works in her private studio at her home in Penguin.

Major Exhibitions
- 1994: Regional Art Gallery, Burnie, Tas (This gallery is classed by many as the largest and best gallery in the Southern Hemisphere).
The exhibition ‘Alternate Perception’ took up the huge gallery space. The paintings were accompanied by original poetry, and also included handmade ceramic ‘Nature-Warrior’ sculptures. This exhibition was presented as an installation and offered the viewer a multitude of alternate perspectives.
- 1993: University of Tasmania Gallery B, Launceston, Tas.
This exhibition ‘Disparate Unity’ presented 42 artworks. The concept used a combination of small, original, adaptable ceramic shapes; collage; painting, and mixed media depicting the ideas of 'Adaptability', 'Chance', and 'The Other'
